The unique black and red appearance of RM 011 Red TPT Quartz is due to a layer construction (over 600 layers total), alternating quartz and carbon fibers. Richard Mille's engineers created TPT quartz, a highly unique material made up of hundreds of layers of quartz filaments piled on top of each other. Silica layers are inserted between NTPT carbon layers using a positioning system that rotates the fibers between each layer by 45 degrees.
